Our services with ESG approach

2023/11/28

We can provide a full technical and economic service to the design and construction industry, with special attention to operators in the water industry, and prepare them for the practical application of the circular economy and ESG approach.

We are pleased to announce that BDL Ltd, with decades of experience in LCC (Life Cycle Costing) and DCC (Dynamic Costing) and in the field of condition assessment, evaluation and design of water utilities and stormwater systems, is now offering ESG analyses to our returning and new clients, seeking new challenges.

We can provide a full technical and economic service to the design and construction industry, with special attention to operators in the water industry, and prepare them for the practical application of the circular economy and ESG approach. We aim to provide practical advice and analysis to the actors of the domestic economy, who increasingly hear the magic ESG acronym in their business decisions, supporting their everyday decisions.

In the process of the so-called "green transition", there is a need for companies specialised and dedicated in technical design and professional consultancy, which, in the face of environmental and economic challenges, recognise and know the opportunities and can offer companies real solutions based on feasible environmental objectives.

In its activities, our company is constantly striving to provide complex and sustainable solutions that are effective and usable from several perspectives, primarily in the water sector, but also in the areas of planning and decision-making. For us, complex thinking means not only extending our activities to a wide range of areas but also seeking solutions that can ensure long-term environmental and economic objectives and sustainable benefits for our partners and customers.

What are the concrete steps that can help us in the green transition?

Life cycle approach
Evaluating technical solutions, products, and services throughout their life cycle is of primary importance not only to reduce costs but also to use resources efficiently and minimise energy consumption. There is now no question that the way to select investments must be through a dynamic approach to cost analysis, using the LCC (life cycle costing) methodology. This is done by comparing several realistic and equivalent technical alternatives to select the optimal solution in the long term.
We can achieve the greatest impact and influence our decision-makers in an even more cost-effective way if we consciously use technical design competencies and variant analysis methodologies at the very outset of the investor idea, i.e. compare real professional technical solutions and evaluate them in a realistic and accountable way.

Circular approach
When preparing investments, the objectives of the circular economy, taxonomy and ESG approach must be taken into account from the initial stage to produce realistic and feasible technical solutions.
Conscious water use and a water value approach are inevitable for an investment or the entire operation of a company. In the ESG framework, the circular economy, water use and its reduction, and biodiversity conservation are among the environmental challenges. Companies are expected to manage water resources carefully. This is an area where we can make significant progress and see benefits in the short term, both in terms of the environment and costs. We know well that unused resources, including unused water, are one of the most effective tools for conserving our precious natural resources. This requires a complex rethinking of water use. We can start with the management of rainwater; taking it as a precious resource, treating it, storing it, use it locally. We can even close the loop on our water by recycling our treated wastewater for industrial use.

We know and consciously use Hungarian water innovations and technical solutions that can reduce our water consumption, sustainably use our water resources, and last but not least protect the environment, and help maintain and preserve biodiversity.

Our Group flagship, Pureco Ltd, has made its first successful voluntary ESG report. With this experience and BDL Ltd's circular economy approach, we offer our clients our expertise in LCC and DCC analyses and complex assessments of our water utilities.
