Our colleagues in the different segments of the water industry possess an outstanding professional and innovative knowledge, which have been known and recognized in many parts of the world.
On corporate level we are member and acting leading roles in several international organizations, with a global perspective.
As a member of the Hungarian Water Cluster, with about 35 other members, we rely on the expertise and resources of around 2000 colleagues. Mr. Kovacs, as the President of the Hungarian Water Cluster and the Hungarian Wastewater Association, has been working for several years for the world-wide recognition of the Hungarian professional knowledge, in which the international organization leadership posts are important milestones.
The Hungarian Water Association’s (HWA) main aims is to provide qualified but yet independent professional services and assistance to experts in the field of urban water management and to the domestic water sector. Reacting to the 21st centuries’ professional challenges by working effectively as an advocate organization is among HWA tasks beyond resetting our support activities and cementing our foundations. HWA goal is to establish strong international network by linking partners, suppliers and specialists, as well as to facilitate knowledge transfer, continuous improvement of water management related know-how, and to promote innovation widely. Károly Kovács have been acting as president of HWA to improve the Hungarian water management. In fact, the HWA is an umbrella organization not only for operators and suppliers but our organization puts a lot of effort to connect water utility operators’ colleagues, designers to representatives of municipalities, water management directorates and authorities. Moreover involving educational organisations, professors and students to the professional work has a great emphasis among our objectives.
The European Water Association (EWA) is an independent non-governmental and non-profit making organisation dealing with the management and improvement of the water environment. It is one of the major professional associations in Europe that covers the whole water sector, wastewater as well as drinking water and water related waste.
With member associations from nearly all European countries EWA consists of most European Union Member States, including all countries from Central and Eastern Europe which joined the European Union on 1 June 2013. Other European countries represented within the EWA are Albania, Serbia, Norway, and Switzerland. The aim of EWA is to provide a forum for the discussion of key technical and policy issues affecting the growing European region. This is done through conferences, workshops, meetings and special working groups of experts all organised on an international basis together with regular publications. EWA informs its members on the development of EU legislation and standardisation and seeks to influence the drafting when appropriate. It has close contacts with the European Commission (DG Environment), the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Parliament. Through this exchange of knowledge the objective of EWA is to contribute to sustainable water management, a safe water supply and the protection of the water and soil environment. In the framework of the Hungarian Water Cluster our company is playing an active role in EWA, between 2013 and 2015 Károly Kovács was the president of the organisation and now he is member of the management committee.
The Hungarian Water Utility Association was established in 1990 with the aim to act as an independent representative of the water sector’s interests, intermediating trade development and engineering services. BDL is member of HWUA, Károly Kovács is member of the economics committee as well.
The Hungarian Chamber of Engineers is a professional public body established by the 19 independent county chambers of engineers under the Act No. LVIII of 1996 on the Professional Chambers of the Engineers and Architects. It has 20 professional sections which can have sub-divisions on the county level. Members are also members of the county chamber of their home, and based on their respective qualifications and interests, are members of the professional section(s) too. Altogether the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers has almost 19,000 full members and is affiliated with another 13,000 registered professionals.
The Association of Environmental Enterprises was founded in 1992 by the cooperation of 26 companies. The Association is a business federation of the environmental industry. It realises lobbying keeping in mind the principles of environmental protection. The members (as our company) of the associations are environmental servicing companies, engineering companies, R+D+I companies and companies involved in water supply, water treatment , waste treatment, waste recovery, air pollution control, soil remediation, noise and vibration reduction, including the manufacturers and distributors of these equipment. The Association has now about 260 members representing the environmental industry. Our associated members are universities, research institutes and green NGOs. The supporting members are large companies, which respect the principles of environmental protection.
The ASEM Water Resources Research and Development Center founded in China, is a permanent research and development organization in water S&T cooperation under the framework of ASEM mechanism, which has been running smoothly for 15 years. The major objectives of the Center are to cultivate an effective mechanism, a high-quality work team and a well-established platform in water resources research and development, and gradually make it a multi-facets one, i.e. the center for Asian-European S&T research and coordination with international influence and charisma, the center of policy recommendations and technological consultations, the center of technological training and exchange, the R&D and test center for new products, and the demonstration & extension center for research achievements.
We take part in university education and training in the field of water and environmental engineering as well as Dynamic Cost Comparison Calculation, Life-Cycle costing, professional trainings.
Our company among its economic-related activities organises trainings in terms of Dynamic Cost Comparison Calculation (DCC) and Life-Cycle costing (LCC). These methodologies are easily taught by the economics and engineering professionals as well. Our colleagues, as experienced trainers, are involved in the effective training process in order our future partners will be able to use these costings during their project preparation work. Trainings and seminars are available in Hungarian and in English too. Popularity of our trainings can be measure our invitations, we have made presentations and technical forums on several international events. These events are not only for knowledge transfer but a very effective platform contributing to set up and increase professional networking and water development.
